Oh. My. God…. Hello Kitty has landed in MAC!! The way they’ve done it though makes me wanna cRiNgE! >.< Sure, it should be a great fusion of these two things, but…. I bet if the Japanese made the make up range for MAC (or at least did the packaging et al) it would have looked way cooler. Its just that atm its so kitch. Urgh. The monotone look with flashed of hot pink makes it seem like something for teenagers, as it’s neither sophisticated glamour nor trendy. Don’t get me wrong I like Hello Kitty, esp as a kid, but these guys have turned her into something else entirely.

Feb 26. 2009. Headache central.

Well… this week I’ve been getting a headache over two of the projects we have been brifed on last week; Tuesday’s project is about managing a brand and how to market it. Almost everyone was in a panic about which option to choose, as there were three to choose from; find out how you can diversify a brand by creating a new product for them to sell. More about that later. Monday’s project is about Global Sourcing, and part 1 is finding a retailer, pick 5 products in a product area and spec them up. I was shocked to discover that HoF don’t stock Diesel womenswear - didn’t bother to check Men’s or sales but I don’t think they existed either - so now what?! I thought. Then when I saw the HK girls they told me that the Diesel shop in town’s packed up!!! Arrghh headache! Another classm8 said she could try taking lots of pics of Diesel jersey wear (we’re both doing same retailer, same product area…. whoopy doo…) and since we were in same tutorial group our tutor said she doesn’t mind ’some collaboration’.

My mission for today was going to check if the Diesel store is still there. It was around… 3ish I think when I decided to go, and cos I could catch the next bus home if I wanted to, I was sooooo tempted to just go home. But something made me want to go check out the Diesel shop, as I’m pretty sure it was still there the last time I went; which was about 1-2 months ago. And it was still there!! =D SIlly HK girls must’ve got confused. I was in there for aaagggeeees doing “research” for the project. I tried on this dress I got form the sale rack to add to the “research” and it actually looked good on me. It was on sale so… I bought it. The guy who served me was really cute, kinda short but he had muscle and was cute to I’ll let him off. He was quite chatty for a sales guy, talking about the usual random chit chat. =P

Been to see Confessions of a Shopaholic with a few friends from uni - its such a funny film! You can kinda relate to some of the things, such as the ‘allure’ of buying something new and shiny, or when something just looks sooo gorgeous just makes you want to buy it. But in the film Rebecca (Isla Fisher) actually sees the mannequins talking to her, acting as sales assistants luring her to buy things. Dellusional, yup, but funny with a sprinkle of romance. The leading guy is kinda short, but very cute. =P

lately iv been getting the feeling that im losing something…. and getting bit depressed by it. either that or its just side effects of lack of sleep lol. and cw pressure is starting to mount again slowly. gran was in hospital again, her health’s not too good. thankfully she was able to come home after a few days; they gave her twp pints of blood, so she looked alot better.

i can’t help but feel like i’ve commited some kind of social taboo. since the xmas party at the SU with A and co, we’ve started to hang out more. everytime she goes partying she’d invite me to join them, and towards the end of january when it was crazy and we had 3 deadlines in two weeks, even though we had no lectures or anything but it was insane the workload we had to do, i ended up living in the computer room at uni. sad but thats what an avalanche of cw does to you haha. well A had practically moved into 205, (comp room) as she’d be there day in day out, from 8ish am til when they kick her out at 8pm. now thats hardcore! i’d start around 11ish and stay till 7.30pm as i had to get the bus home so couldn’t stay as late. she helped me alot with the project, kinda acting as my editor (we had to write reports and do insane amounts of research) and i was like her proof reader, as she’d ask me if this sounded ok, or how to write something to sound better, and id ask her which image to choose or to out what where.

and then the other week, i was invited to have dinner with the HK girls and other.. chinese internationals and HK.K. since we were on pally terms i thought id tell A in casual conversation. i didn’t invite her because i knew we’d all be speaking chinese, both mando and canto and my canto is only so-so as it is anyway. the following week she goes out with her other friends and doesn’t invite me. normally it wouldn’t be a big deal as i was used to being on my own, but for 3 weeks running whenever she went out, she invited me too so i felt like i was starting to make friends on the course. but now im not so sure… maybe i shouldnt have told her i was having dinner with the chinese lot?? chef says im looking into it waaay too much. maybe i am. its just that last week i hinted twice that i wanted to go out, each time using a different tactic to hint at going to SU to party. but A would just stay silent, and eventually talk about something else. Hmm…. why was that? chef might be right, so i thought i’d be more direct and just ask if she wanted to go out this w/e. Tomorrow she might be going out with another friend and his mates, to a gay club, and she invited me to join in, but she might also be going home, so she’ll keep me posted about what she’s going to do.

i feel a dry spel coming on… dry as in i won’t be going out much in the next couple of weeks, which i want to go out because the workload is ok atm, the deadlines aren’t too close - yet. whereas last time they were, but thengoing out just a week or so before the deadline helps to aleviate the stress. as does looking at eye-candy where everybody is the same age and status as you - students. =P

As the fashion cycle keeps going round like a hamster wheel, ever spinning faster and faster, for S/S 09 it’s all about fantasy, child-like drawings, fairy tales and others. I like the mask, made from black lace it seems. Reminds me of the elaborate Venetian masks they where at festivals. I have a purple one with peacock feathers that you can actually wear, from when I went to Florence.

Y’know I’ve never tried one of these, but apparently they are ‘delicous beyond words’ or so my tutor told me. The brown chocolate one appeals to me the most, followed by either almond or coffee cream one, then maybe the purple one. Anyone know what flavours they are?

Well, since my last post alot has happened, namely coursework amongst other stuff. Been going out a fair few times recently with some uni mates, (touchwood my social life keeps going!) and when we went out on V.day it was pretty interesting.. =P

Atm writing my dissertation is taking sole priority, along with the other two insane projects we got briefed on this week. Seriously… referencing is the bane of my life. If only life was simple and we could just write read this book ‘chocolate by m. harriet, published 2008′ instead of the complicated process and format that is required as stated by the holy havard system.

thinking of getting some new straightners too…. the straightening plates on my current ones aren’t exactly parralell, which is strange… unless chef did something to them the last time she used them? Lol. the ghg m4’s looked so cool! glossy black with white floral print. but it costs more than the originals, so might just have to stick with those. hmm.

somehow got ill as well! great. probably cos i’ve had 3 deadlines within past two weeks, very little sleep and an overdose of stress. so yeah, that might have caused my to catch a stupid cold. im still ok atm, but i feel like im supressing the onslaught of the start of a very bad cold! bleh.

Missing my favourite fash-mag Nylon, I decided to google it. A beauty article caught my attention; as the title suggests, a new face powder made from silk!! From the holy place that is Japan, by a company called Chidoriya. Hmm… I want to add a link to the article itself - when I eventually figure it out. In the meantime, not wanting to recyle said article, I’ll leave you with a picture of the new wonder product.

This actually happened on Thurs 18th Dec, 08. Only just had time to update post.

So, following the crazy antics that were Wednesday night a la Ocean, I handed in my rationale (glad to hand in damn thing and forget about it for Xmas!) I bumped into HKK (Cause she’s the older Chinese one, one of… four Kate’s) and we were chatting random stuff. There was a meal at Pizza Express - over rated I think, for pizza anyway, I’d rather go to Pizza Hut, same thing - as it was like an Xmas meal organised by ‘D, one of the student reps. I only agreed to go cos I thought i’d be like the last gathering we had; nearly everone from IFB went to hang out after a deadline for drinks and food. It was really nice, bondig with everyone. But this time, half the class had already gone home, the foreign students also, and those who were still around, some weren’t bothered about going as P.E was soo expensive, and it wasn’t that great to be justified by he price. The plan was Gatecrasher afterwards. Since A, who I was getting along with *touch wood* wasn’t going, and cos I knwe wI was going to be socially busy for most of the week and porbably spending an absurd amount of money, I wondered if I should still go. Ok so I had put my name down, and even though I saw ’D and her bff, both of whom asked if I was still going to the meal and I said yeah, though I still thought about not going. Afterall, I should still be able to choose right?

So as HKK was telling me about her house party, being the reason why she wasn’t going to the meal this time, I was quite suprised when she suddenly invited me to go! I was interested to her about her plans, not really expecting her to invite me, but happy she did.

The house party was great! As always, it is hairy when you first arrive and see a wave of new faces you don’t know and names your not familiar with. HKK was a cool host, introducing us to everyone. But, alcohol is your best friend and before long we were all mingling together in one (albeit tiny) social pot that is HKK’s basement kitchen. There were endless nibbles, from dumplings, meatballs, spring rolls, crisps and my favourite, sushi! Got talking to the (in-house lol) DJ and so the music was mostly rnb, much to my liking!

Sometime later, upstairs in the hallway…. the guy who was photographer for the night (he even had a professional camera) asked some of us if we wanted to check out the photos in his room. We went, but got distraced by two guys in the hallway, because they were having one of the weirdest conversations I’d ever heard; one sitting on the stairs and the other leaning against a small side table. The hallway guy was Curt and the other was Adrian (I think?) Curt was whinging -literally- about not ever being propsitioned by prostitutes!! It was way tooo surreal! Hahaha! Curt seemed hell bent on going outside to find one, but HKK was always concerned about him being barefoot. (guess it’s cause of her maternal instincts). Curt would always linger by the door, or close it and hang around outside the house. Phhft…. attention seeker. Well, by now more people had come upstairs, and Johnny’s stories about “being propositioned” by said prostitutes was hiiiilllariious! Kinda creepy/eye-opening/must-have-been-scary-at-the-time type stories, but funny to listen to in hindsight. One time, Johnny was saying, he got stalked by a prostitute! He was saying how him and his friends were talking about how much one costs, as he knew a friend of a friend who actually is, a male gigolo/prostitue, and he said it costs 200 pounds for a guy. (I thought shit, is that all?! And for something so…. degrading) And Johnny and his friends knew it would be less for a woman, so…. off Johnny goes and asks one. Politely explains hes NOT interested, isn’t intending to be offensive or anything, just curious…. ‘But how much do you cost?’ He said. Uh-oh…. and so she followed him down a few streets and he had to hide from her!!! “It was like Lord of the Rings, where the Hobbit hides in the bush and the witch thing is leaning over the bush, sniffing for his scent, and I’m the little Hobbit.” Were his words. Johnny pretends to show us his ‘Hobbit’ self. Everyeone was in stitiches! More stories followed, some more disturbing than others (yes, it can and does get worse). One night he was walking home from a friend’s house, and this black guy was coming from opposite direction. Johnny smiles (’because he was taught to by his mother - oh dear..) and the black guy, drops his trousers, and said ‘Do it for 2.50′. Can you believe that!!!! Johnny…. with sewing machine in one hand, and a bag of fabric in the other. Around 4 am. And it often happens to him, where taxi drivers actually stop when they see him, and ask him how much!!! Feels like Johnny is the kind of person you always have to watch out for, poor sod!

Yup, I went to OCEAN!!! The last time I went there, was with Monica and some of her friends in my…. 1st or 2nd yr? and The floor was sticky and it was dead, but after a few minutes she manages to persuade them to leave and go someplace else. well….. my classmate A invited me to party with her and her friends 2nite, at Ocean, and I managed to get Aqua (another story) to come along.

I had a really fun time! Enjoyed myslef even though I didn’t have that much to drink, although I did feel abit like an alchie since A didn’t drink, and her other 2 friends were already drunk either form drinking at home or at BZR where we met them. But anyway, I actally had more fun than I thought I would at OCean, and saw countless cute/fit/good looking guys! =P Most of which were dressed up! I saw smurfs… they even painted themseleves BLUE! and santas…. GUYs dressed AS santas complete with dresses and tinsel…. guys dressed as the 3 wise men….. it was only conclusion I could gather since they were wearing what I thought was a nighty, and holding a deformed plastic baby that kids have (don’t ask…. it wasn’t a pretty sight), life guards; buff guys who wore only yellow shorts (footwear??) and writing on their backs. I saw one guy with ‘follow the yellow prick road’ Hahaha!!! There was one guy, I was positive he was asian cos he had thick black hair and just by how his facial features were, but it was hard to tell as it was kinda dim, and also there were the flash lights/disco lights and the inda of flashing light that makes slow motion looks coooolll. This guy was well fit! and me and david (A’s friend) were looking at each other, smirking, without really speaking we were like ‘yeah, he’s yummy!’ at one point, we were trying to grab each other’s hand and getting the other person to smack this guy’s ass!!!! This guy in question was indeed v.v.v.v.v.cute and fit. I think I grabbed david’s hand and used it to smack the guy’s ass, as I don’t remember touching it but then again I’m not entirely sure!! =P the guy in question DID turn around and looked AT ME after one of us touched his ass,,, but I just stared at david abd he at me, and we both had a mischivous-staring-out-contest. so the cute-fit guy just ignored us. hehe… incase ur wondering, david is gay and mischivious as hell!

I thought he had pulled earlier… when some random guy came up to him and picked him up and swung him around!! But then he just gave hima manly/friendly hug/slap-on-the-back and walked off. Maybe not then?

Then at some point, all these big huge scary security people came CHARGING onto the dance floor, literally puching everybody and anybody out of their way, and dragged these 2-3 guys off and took them outside. buggers also steped on my foot!!! It really hurt, but I soon forgot about it. Ah.. the magic of alcohol! Lol!

I had about… 5 or 6 drinks… mostly vodka and lemonnade… then I decided to switch to double gin and lemonade… since I wanted to loosen up some more and dance without feeling self-conscious. At the time I guess caus I was dancing so I didn;t really notice, or it takes time and you sitting still for it to really kick in. But now im feeling quite merry, and my head wants sleep!

Me and Aqua… decided to go walk around the upper floor of ocean, after A decided to go home - I was tempted to follow, but since aqua was ok with whatever, I decided to stay a little while longer. We were standing a one of the bars, and I regretted getting my double gin earlier, cos I saw a HUGE banner across this upstairs bar, saying it was 3 POUNDS for a COCKTAIL!!! I soooo wanted to get a blue lagoon, but then I didnt want to over do it and have to down my double gin and then get the blue lagoon. aqua had had 2-3 drinks by now, which she tells me is her limit. hmmm…. might have to work on this one, hehe. well… to the point… isaw a caveman/santa hyrbid, a few of them actually, on the same floor as us. and I wanted really staring at one, dunno if cos I was getting merry or if he really looked so peculier that you couldnt tame ky eyes off him, and then he suddenly came over! He stood beside me for a while, but I couldnt decided if he was cute or not, so I carried on talking to Aqua, and also since he didnt speak to me when he got to me either. He eventually went away again, leanig back against the wall as before. oh well, I think he might have been asian and I wasnt sure if I wanted attention of an asian guy. Nothing wrong with them, but I couldn’t decide of this one was cute or not, so i just left it.

Er.. tink thats it for now… my brain wants sleep, and I have to get up early tmr, for a tutorial/seminar thingy, and also hand in my mock rationale. I actaully managed to get the damn thing done in time this time round, hence I went out to par-TAY! =D

The latest phenonemon to grip our attentions since the arrival of Harry Potter, similar theme of make-believe creatures, of fantasy you could say. But the difference is that this is about a vampire love story, and Harry Potter is magic for kids. I used to like Harry Potter when I was small when it came out, but this is more compelling I think. I won’t spoil the fun but my curisosity got the better of me, and so I went and got the book even though the film will be released soon. It was that addictive…. I finished reading it in two days! Sure, it has it’s cliches; he wants her but her blood might be the end of her, as well as other factors which either want to keep them apart or dead. Stephenie Meyer’s is a skilled writer in my opinion, as the story keeps you griped from start to finish, always teasing you with the classic ‘will they, won’t they?’ get together, and with a vampire thrown in the equation, death is obviously a presence. Also humour is used with such issues, making things that either should be serious or weird sound almost casual.

The guy who plays Edward has a better role and looks wise, is better than his role in Harry Potter. Sorry, but move over Harry Potter! Lol.
