The Holy Grail

Delirium. Spacing-out. Headaches. Becoming a vampire just to get things done. Running around like a headless chicken. Just some of the joys of studying for that 1st, the holy grail of degree marks. Of course there are the usual drink till you pass out as means of socialising and bonding with new friends. As a final year though it’s ‘all about the course work’. Suddenly you don’t have time to do anything that isn’t related to studying, and mingling with classmates becomes the norm when doing group projects and having group meetings. Sounds more like a work meeting doesn’t it?

At this stage sleep is not really an option. Lol.

Chef is coming to visit this w/e! =D But only for a day, to visit granny who’s in hospital. But she’ll be back again the following w/e with the spud in tow! Would be nice to see them. Mum’s gone to HK for 3 wks! It’s her ‘holiday’ away from us and free of household duties! Haha. It’s been kinda quiet since it’s just me and Dad. He seems a little chattier with just the two of us, either that or he’s more relaxed as Gran’s not here atm. Gran is quite tired today, although she seemed better other day. She seems to be doing ok, not sure when she can come home yet.

Wow! Went to the forest rec place to watch the fireworks – 5th Nov Guy Fawkes day! It was pretty amazing actually. Kind of so-so at first, but then towards the end it was actually quite good! They had some huuuuuggee purple star-burst fireworks, one that had lots of green, white and red ones that looked like a sparkling row of Christmas trees! And some that spun around like mini-catherine wheels in the sky! They also had a fun fair there. At first my suspicions were tha it all looked alot like the Goose Fair rides. Because one of the rides looked exactly like the one I went on last month.

Cleo driver couldn’t resist stepping onto my wellies when he saw me! So then that started a war – I was sooo going to step back onto his nice, white, trainers. I didn’t suceed at first, and we ended up running around the muddy field for ages, with me chasing after him to stomp his oh-so-white trainers and him running away from me, backwards, so he looked like he was doing some kind of weird kooky dance! Haha! And Bung Boi did it too. Me and Monica were trying to stomp mud onto Bung Boi’s beige shoes. He stomped on hers so I stomped on his, leaving a lovely wet muddy welly print. Hahaha! We were just messing around but it was so much fun too. Glad I decided to wear wellies, I thought it’d be a good idea since the rain had been drizzling all day and night. Plus  I took my big clear bubble umbrella for good measure. That came in handy too. So there I was with the gang, me with my bubble umbrella and wellies! I had fun stomping around in the putty-like mud and onto the guy’s shoes and avoiding them getting me back. Teehehe… Me and Monica were on the hunt for toffee apples. And Cleo driver wanted some mushy peas. I had never liked mushy peas - until I tried some of Cleo driver’s mushy peas with mint sauce, and you know, it was actually quite nice! So I bought some for myself. Unfortunately we couldn’t find any toffee appples, as nobody had any!

Oh well, uni tmr. A full day of lectures/seminars. Hopefully my tutor can give me some direction in terms of where to go with my dissertation. I have an idea which I really like, but just unsure about how to go about the research/reading.

Bon nuit!
